Why ask this

This is the strongest, most durable effect measured here at either horizon. TCGplayer's market price comes from completed sales; the median ask records sellers' current pricing. A premium over that reference shows seller-side pricing resistance.

How to read the figure

The figure is the gap between the median asking price and the recent-sales market reference. Bigger means a larger asking-price premium, up to the point where unusual asks distort the reading.

Shown on every row: Seller confidence

How well it has measured

Seller confidence: Strong and consistent. Across 38 test dates, each scored using only what was knowable that day, cards it ranked in the top tenth beat its bottom tenth by about 20% over the next 60 days on average (rank correlation +0.236). The windows overlap, so that is closer to 13 independent readings than 38, all from one rising market.

Where it can be wrong

The reliability check keeps unusual asking-price patterns out of this list. Extreme gaps can reflect thin or distorted pricing rather than dependable seller resistance.
